How To Make Your Webinars Produce Better Results

By Alleen Dorce

It is essential that you understand there is a lot more going on with webinars than you may realize. It goes back to the old fashioned marketing concept of the oral presentation. Really think about that and let it sink in and then you will see how true it is. You have to use marketing principles as well as concepts for public speaking. In the beginning, it might seem unnerving but you are going to see that things get a whole lot easier. Before your webinars can be successful, you need to learn how to be persistent. They can do a lot for your business bottom line and so they're worth the effort.

You have a lot that you can do during a webinar and keeping your listeners mesmerized is an important task. As with most other things, you can overdo something very badly and the effect is the exact opposite. One great example of this is using too much humor or cutting up excessively. It is okay to be just a little bit humorous.

You need to be prepared for changes when you are doing any form of live event, including a webinar. You are fully aware of the points you want to make and the information you want to deliver and your listeners have a pretty good idea of what to expect as well. Then, for whatever reason, it appears something just isn't working out. This could be caused by a gut feeling or by the comments people leave in the feedback section. At these times you have to be prepared to shift to a different gear very quickly. So this is about your mindset and being prepared. You need to be able to react quickly so you can make sure you don't lose your audience.

It is really easy to let things slide when it comes to webinar registrations--they're kind of like email lists that way. A good way to kill an email list is to require opt-ins to submit phone numbers and addresses to sign up. The example is an extreme one, sure, but it illustrates the point we are making about what you should be asking for in terms of type and amount of information. This is the same for webinar registrations; asking for too much results in very few sign ups. You don't need much information for a webinar registration. So don't ask for too much--only what you need to get them to sign up.

Many times you only get one time to make things right with the people on your email list. Not all of your subscribers will drop off, but you might have a few. By implementing these suggestions and expanding on them, you'll eventually turn your webinars into massive events. Experience is a vital component to achieving this. When you've done a few webinars, you'll feel more comfortable. You'll make more money as you learn and grow.
